Departmental Achievements ( During last five years ):
Started M.phil. in Lib. Sc., organised 4 refresher course in Library and Information Science. Developed Computer Laboratory and daily library facilities provided. Teachers presented more than 20 papers in national and international conferences in India and abroad.
About the Department :
This is the first department of the University established in 1957. Dr. Ranganathan has worked as visiting professor during 1957-58-59. The department has well developed infrastructure with a Computer Lab & Departmental Library. Presently it is under Faculty of Information Technology which is only department under this faculty in India. It has sanctioned post of one professor, one reader and four lecturers, one additional post has been sanctioned in tenth five year plan. It has been recognised as Refresher Course Centre by UGC ans has organised four Refresher Course.
